17 Comments:

  1. The X Factor was pulling decent numbers last year, so i don’t see why the Voice can’t pull similar figures post Blind Auditions. Most viewers will commit to a show for the season if they have already watched all the auditions etc.

  2. I actually held off watching Nein version of The Voice as I never liked Keith Urban and thought the selection of judges was terrible compared to the NBC and BBC (US/UK) versions. Didn’t think the guy from Good Charlotte and Keith Urban of all people would be so popular

I might check it out though. Also, Seven have themselves to blame for the drop for Revenge, too many stupid 9pm starts (often later thanks to MKR) and inconsistent timeslots.

  3. Very early days for the Voice but part of what is making the Australian version so good thus far are the 4 judges, they seem to gel very well with one another and the contestants.

We will have to wait and see if they carry this into the actual training and subsequent battles but so far so good.

  4. I expected The Voice to be huge but this is out of this world. The Voice is so great but i have to ask will the viewers stay with the show once blind auditions end. I know in other countries the show has dropped after the auditions. Regardless of all this The Voice is a beast at the moment. Nine must be popping those champagne corks this morning.

Big question now is where is Seven going to schedule Once Upon a Time and Downton Abbey. Maybe this is why Seven hasn’t scheduled them yet to ensure they don’t get slaughtered by The Voice. I am sure they were wary of this show and rightly so. I am a Seven fan but The Voice is amazing. I am loving it. Well done to Nine. They have finally after 3-4 years brought some competition back to the ratings.

  5. The only good thing that separates the voice from any other singing show is the blind auditions, so can the voice keep up these ratings after the blind auditions? I recon it will be around 1mill for post blind auditions.
7 need to pick up their game. I don’t think they have a whole lot of major new shows to start. I can only think of The X Factor.
I also think that 7 News needs a massive overhaul.

  6. Wow! Who would’ve though The Voice numbers would go up from Sunday to Monday. Given the extra competiton from AGT and Revenge and the relatively soft figures for The Block lead-in, Nine would be stoked with this. They are now approx 30% ahead of seven this week, finally some competition – except for Ten – abysmal.

  7. Wow! Talk about a reversal of fortune. The Voice more then doubles Australia’s Got Talent. Revenge takes a dive. Looks like Ch9 will have the next few months locked up.

  8. Wow. Nine will win the first ratings weeks in over a year and a half. Based on a reality formats based on overseas shows (The Block, Celebrity Apprentice and The Voice)
