Updated: ELEVEN schedules the Melrose Place remake (and a blogger looks like a mug).

Sunday night’s a bitch (it used to be Tuesdays according to the old promo).
Updated: Later this month ELEVEN is set to play the remake of Melrose Place, from Episode 1.
Launching Sunday July 29 , we’re heading back to 4616 Melrose where a whole bunch of new pretty people live beside a pool and sleep with each other. The times have changed, the drama hasn’t.
Kicking off with a few familiar faces and an unexplained death, Melrose Place is again one of the hottest addresses on TV.
10:30pm Sundays from July 29th on ELEVEN.
Update: Who looks like a mug now? Seems I got too excited at the thought of the original having a rerun and not enough details on series numbers were provided. Grrrrrr……

I loved MP and the only episode I missed was the finale…looks like I’ll be waiting a while to see it again.
I know (for some reason) everyone seems to like seeing Star Trek on Thursdays for 3 hours but really, those slots should be used for something a little more recent. like the newer 90210, just move Star Trek to Saturday nights or something. the 8:30 to 11:30 slots shouldn’t be used for a show thats so old! they could play the newer 90210 in double eps and play the original at 10:30.
Funny, i was just enjoying Dynasty season 2 on dvd last night and saw Heather Locklears first ep. She was so young. Then I see her pic when I go on tv tonight. Can’t wait to see the new Melrose.
The MP remake that only lasted 18 episodes, is 3 years old and Eleven are like 3 seasons behind 90210, so would have to show double or even triple episodes of it for months, to catch up.
Ive seen all the episodes and thought it was good trashy fun!! which is all it is meant to be!! Great to see some of the old cast in it too!!!
Do I bother watching this? I remember the original and enjoyed it for good trashy tv, but from what I’ve read this isn’t very good.
MP is great but it would be even better for them to do the original 90210 before it became a College Years and Beyond Series for the generation who didn’t get to see it first time around. That was one of the best shows of it’s era.It had class and certainly didn’t need a bunch of tough bad men to help it’s ratings.
Not bad to finally see something new on eleven! But 10.30pm is ridiclous! Should be 9.30pm at latest, Ten seem to put everything good really late on eleven like nurse jackie, californication and where is that by the way??
Also Eleven could play 90210 during a good primetime aslong as they are smart in promoting it it could pay off, they have alot of eps which over time could draw in viewers.
Why are they even bothering? The remake was canned after the first season. Would have loved for the original to be repeated from the start.
This show is fantastic – I highly recommend watching. Miles better than the horrific 90210 reboot
BTW in this show Thomas Calabro, Heather Locklear and a number of actors from the original series return. Every episode was extremely compelling and advanced the plot forward – CW’s biggest mistake was canceling this show. One of the best series to air in a long time.
I actually didn’t mind Ashlee Simpson, she was such a loon. I enjoyed watching it but pity it gets left open-ended. 🙁
I kinda agree Vinny but maybe not pairing them together but airing them on different nights. 10:30 Sunday for Melrose as is, 10:30 Mondays for 90210.
and perhaps Eleven should be using all of their 10:30 slots every night for less popular shows, 11:30 is too late. Tuesday nights at 10:30 perhaps double Californication or One Tree Hill, Wednesdays 10:30 double King of the Hill or Cleveland repeats, Thursdays 10:30 Star Trek Voyager, Fridays 10:30 Sex and the City, Saturdays 10:30 original 90210 and 11:30 original Melrose Place.
anything like those ideas is better than old comedies like Frasier!!
Does anyone know if Ten actually still has the rights to 90210 ? Maybe that is why Season 2 has never got a run…. maybe pay tv has rights ?
Am repeating myself but ……If GO! can air Chuck, South Park, Human Target and Fringe on late at night then Eleven should do the same with shows like 90210.
Perhaps instead of having a double ep of 90210 from 11.30pm to 1.30am have it
Saturday
11.30pm 90210 (one ep)
Sunday
11.30pm 90210 (one ep)
Should be
Melrose Place 10.30pm to 11.30pm
90210 new eps 11.30pm -12.30pm
If GO! can put Chuck on around 11.30pm and it gets about 44 thousand or less viewers surely Eleven can put 90210 at 11.30pm and at least this would not matter in the ratings .
Yeah, it’d be great if it was the original show; that was a must-watch (even if, like Seinfeld, you often denied watching it). Don’t care about the remake.
lol its ok David, noone is perfect!
I agree that ELEVEN should pair it with 90210.
Trust me! No point watching it till Ashlee Simpson is gone & it’s Heather Locklear v.s Katie Cassidy.
what do they mean replaying the remake? I don’t think it’s even been on a first time?
Even more reason now to pair it with the remake of 90210
David Ive got a funny feeling this isnt the originally but the remake.
Groan…. think you’re right. Checking….
This is strange in two ways. The first being that they are repeating a 20 year old series, and they still haven’t aired the remake (or whatever you want to call it).
Secondly, this summary release for MP is awfully like the setup for the new season, familiar faces, new faces moving in and a death.
As m4rcocapps says, why is the blurb from Ten regarding the 2009 remake? What exactly is being broadcast?
The summary sounds awfully like Episode 1 of the revived Melrose Place? But I would love it if it’s truly the original being broadcast.
I’d like to see them play the new 90210 as lead into the retro Melrose. We’ve only seen season 1 of the reboot in the US they’ve just finished season 4 🙁
Should do a dbl headed of Original 90210 before MP, starting from season 1 also. Good to see MP back on our screens.
