  1. GCB, originally called Good Christian Bitches, then of course an uproar from the god fearing folk had it changed to Good Christian Belles, now it’s just plain ole GCB. Great show, pity it didn’t get a big enough following in the US.

  2. @andrewb – exactly. Who is going to commit to two eps in a row of a show they hardly know? Ridiculous programming decision. I also stopped watching OUaT when Seven started using it as filler.

  3. Just a note to the new viewers of Dallas, the new show seems to be aimed at new viewers plus fans of the original series at it’s prime. It would be make more sense to see the earlier seasons in re-run or dvd than the later ones. As new charachters were introduced in the later that arn’t even mention now.

  4. @andrewb, that’s why I have recorded it so I can watch one episode at a time when I am ready. When Seven were playing Once Upon a Time three nights a week I recorded them all and am still watching the last few.

  5. The double episode would have turned many off. Its the kind of show that most will find best watched one hour a week.

Can’t say it enough – with so much competing for our attention now, people just don’t have the time to suddenly watch double episodes of shows – especially one that has just started, and they throw us eps 2 & 3 in one night.

If you have too much to watch in a week, the show where there are 2 hours to get through one week, then 2 the next week usually get put on the short list to delete.

Me personally, am loving Dallas, and even gone as far as hiring S1 and S2 on DVD of original from 1978! Shame noone thought of airing he last season of the old series prior to the new one?

  6. I’m so annoyed at myself for starting to watch Dallas. I knew 9 would do this. The 2nd episode started too late for me last week and now I won’t bother. Surely it could have had a decent run on one of their other channels at an earlier time.

  7. Dallas is a classic example of “ch9 knows best mentality”….sometimes they are actually right, most of the time they are wrong.

Overseas shows fail as soon as they are moved around the schedule or started late. Dedicated fans will seek out alternative ways of watching, which is so easy now….and casual viewers will just give up bothering. For all fta channels local content and live sport will be the only options to lock in viewers if they keep stuffing around….Respect your audience….Or Else!!!!!

  8. Channel Nine have really botched this and not given it a chance to develop a following. The way the series is structured Now, it has much in common with “Revenge” and should appeal to those same audiences. But really Nine would have been so clever to late night strip programme at least the last few years of the old series, which they must have the rights,.
Also Gem is showing Dallas on Saturdays at 1030pm. Is this re runs of these episodes or the old series??

  9. I’m not even sure if I can write this.I’m not sure how far is too far with the swearing, but here goes.I believe GCB stands for Good Christian Bitches,I think.

  10. Look how much Dallas and GCB have in common:
Both set in Dallas. Both great night time soaps. Both over promoted before it started. Both started in the same week with one ep and both went to double eps in the second week. And both with only 10 eps each, so at this rate they will be gone before we know it.

  11. Again…this is why I worry about watching series….they wrecked Harrys Law for me…and now Dallas….
    Have to agree with tomothyd….one a week..on GEM…decent time….
And also agree …this doubling up on episodes is a real turnoff….they have lost me…. 😡

  12. Such crap treatment after the contless preveiw ads they had before it started. If they are bumping it an hour later, why does it have to be a double ep? I want to savour this series, not swallow it. Please nine, just show one ep a week.

  13. Just typical of Nine , but Seven has done it with Suits at the stupid starting time of 11.00 while we have double episodes of GCB, what does that stand for anyway. It is time that double episodes were stopped, in my opinion. I can take 1 episode than they show the second episode which has got nothing to do with the first one. Ten did it with Rush and then on the two that were linked they showed them singly. maybe the programmers do not know their product!

  14. What a joke. Nine can’t stick with anything longer than a week. Just really pisses me off. This is a great show, simply needed time to re engage with an audience.

  15. Can’t quite figure out why, but both “Dallas” and “Embarrassing Bodies” seem to be linked somehow…

Regardless, Dallas will have only 5 eps left after Wednesday night. My, how this series has flown by…
