Foxtel has expanded its subscription services available to hotel guests in 15 hotels around Australia.

2013-08-23_0033Foxtel has upgraded its subscription TV services available to hotel guests in 15 hotels around Australia.

The Foxtel Accommodation Platinum package was launched at The Wave Resort, Gold Coast, offering 112 channels across all genres via the Foxtel iQ set-top-box set-up in each room.

Raelene Smethurst, Head of Business Sales at Foxtel said, “Previously we could only offer a limited amount of Foxtel channels in our accommodation package and our hotel customers’ feedback was their guests’ expectation is to have the same or better Foxtel experience available in-room as to what they have at home. Now with a full suite of channels across all genres and including popular shows like Game of Thrones, True Blood, Australia’s Next Top Model, Rugby League, AFL, and the convenience of the iQ personal video recorder, hotel guests can find something to watch at any time.

“Currently there are over 15 Foxtel Accommodation Platinum Partners nationally with more hotels upgrading in the coming months. The hotels already installed with Platinum are delivering a superior entertainment experience for their customers by catering to their differing tastes and allowing them to plan their viewing. In return, hotels can hope to see an increase in customer satisfaction and drive competitive advantage.”

The Alto Hotel in Melbourne was the first accommodation provider in Victoria to install the new Platinum Package. Gary Stickland, The Alto Hotel General Manager said, “We like to be ahead of the pack so it was very important for us to install the Platinum Foxtel offering before others. Offering a superior entertainment experience for our guests is one of our key points of difference so it was a logical fit for us to be ‘early adopters’ of Foxtel’s iQ in-room Platinum offering.”

To officially launch this comprehensive new service Foxtel celebrated at The Wave Resort on the Gold Coast. The Wave Resort has now become a Foxtel Platinum Partner and is the first large apartment resort on the Gold Coast to install 92 in-room iQ set top boxes. The Wave Resort is part of the Icon Resort Apartments Group comprised of six resorts, and Foxtel’s Platinum iQ service is being rolled out across the entire group covering over 750 apartments.

The Wave Resort Sales and Marketing Manager, Steve Brewster said, “We’re excited to now provide our customers with the Foxtel Accommodation Platinum package and iQ set-top-box. Having the full home Foxtel experience available in-room means our visitors won’t miss their favourite shows and may even get to see something new on Foxtel they haven’t previously discovered.”
