For years it has screened on the ABC but the 30th anniversary of the Schools Spectacular will be broadcast for the first time on Channel Nine, next week.
Showcasing 3600 singers, dancers and musicians from New South Wales public schools, this will again be hosted by conductor John Foreman.
The event has previously produced such acts as Human Nature, The McClymonts, Jack Vidgen and Paulini -this year it will feature Darren Percival and Diana Rouvas.
An extensive audition process is carried out across the state to assemble a 1300-voice choir, 80-piece orchestra, 2000 dancers, and talented soloists from the age of five to 18. They will feature in the dazzling display of music, dance and pageantry across categories including Aboriginal Dance Ensemble, D’Arts Ensemble (formerly known as Disability Dance Ensemble), Ballet and Tap Ensembles, and Boys Hip Hop Ensemble.
The show will also feature performances by Darren Percival and Diana Rouvas, both former Schools Spectacular performers who found fame on The Voice.
The Schools Spectacular combines students of all ages, cultures, skill sets and performance backgrounds and offers them the opportunity for further growth through a rich and rewarding program. It is a unique opportunity for students who attend NSW public schools and highlights the talent, commitment and optimism of our youth who create a memorable experience for us all.
Saturday, November 30, at 7.00pm.

Oh geeze!!!…..I use to enjoy this…hope they handle it with care…but I am afraid I can see a train wreck coming….hope I am proved wrong.
Nine took it, to help promote The Voice: Kids. Anyone see the link?
Unhappy about this. Broken up by ads, I assume we won’t get a full version either.
“How many kids!” the choreographer exclaimed, before hitting the deck like a sack of spuds.
