Malta has won the 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Gaia Cauchi from Malta received a total of 130 points with her power ballad, The Start. Gaia demonstrated vocal strength beyond her 11 years (move over Pina Arena?), and her song was also the sole ballad of the night.
Host country Ukraine finished second Belarus came in third.
The show also included Denmark’s Emmelie De Forest performing her winning 2013 Eurovision winner Only TeardropsÂ
The final scoreboard was:

59 The Netherlands

The 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will now be held in Malta.
