France’s 13 year old Lissandro has won Junior Eurovision 2022 with his song Oh Maman.
At 203 points Lissandro topped the jury vote and placed third with the public to take the winner’s trophy with his upbeat, feel-good number that has shades of Elvis Presley.
Ruunners-up Armenia and third-placed Georgia scoring 180 and 161 points respectively.
The event was held at Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan, Armenia.
Lissandro hails from Moselle, a small town in the east of France. Since the age of five, the young singer has been passionate about music and his parents have always supported his desire to sing.
He enjoys a wide variety of music, from Elvis Presley to Bruno Mars. Lissandro’s love for the King of Rock and Roll came to the forefront when he participated in The Voice Kids France in 2020. Blown away by his energetic interpretation of Presley’s “Too Much”, the four judges all turned their seats around, even leaving their podium to dance. This performance earned him the nickname of Elvissandro.
Australia did not compete this year, last appearing in 2019.
