No Junior Eurovision entrant for Australia

Australia is not participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest again this year, to be held in Yerevan, Armenia on December 11.

This marks the third year running Australia has not participated.

Nor will it screen on SBS.

An SBS spokesperson told TV Tonight, “SBS is always exploring new ways to entertain audiences and enhance their Eurovision experience, however there are no plans to broadcast Junior Eurovision this year.”

Australia has participated five times from 2015 – 2019 but paused when the pandemic prevented travel.

Junior Eurovision has previously screened in Australia on SBS and ABC ME.
