GO! refreshes its logo

GO! unveils a new logo as part of a refresh to retain their young demo but broaden to an older market.

GO!_04Yesterday GO! unveiled a new-look logo for the channel.

Designed by design studio DD8,  the colour palette has been broadened and an angular shape added, as part of a refresh to retain their young demographic but broaden to an older market.

DD8 worked closely with Nine’s Creative Director Andrew Peace and Art Director Sarah Cunningham to create the channel’s new Idents.

Creative Director Jean-Christophe Danoy said, “With DD8 being a new company, it’s fantastic to be given the trust of the Nine creative team to create GO!’s new look. We actually set up new infrastructure (office, computers, servers) to take on this job and we’re glad that we did.”

Six different logo combinations with two colours will be introduced over the coming weeks.

  1. They would do better to not on-sell their best shows in terms of retaining their audiences. I’ve barely watched GO since they sold Vampire Diaries & Pretty Little Liars to Foxtel.

  2. I hope that they built it out of Lego bricks so that they could see what it will actually look like on TV, given how much compression they use. Should just change the channel name to LeGo and be done with it.

  3. @susierids… I don’t think I have dissed anyone with my comment, rebranding and logos are important in a large consumer driven business with a strong history. This is just a refresh for a minor digital channel with a relatively small audience base. The programming content will have a much greater impact on the viewing demos.

Nothing wrong with a refresh every few years, but no need to imply much more, cos thats all it is…..and nothing too delusional about that..

  4. I just looked on wikipedia and it has a far simpler updated logo than the busy 3D angled one. Maybe you could add that to this article David? I think that’s what will be watermarked on the bottom left of screen.

  5. So someone thinks that a simple logo will keep younger viewers and attract older viewers. Err!! are they delusional? I know folk in tv land can be a bit bonkers, but this is stretching things. All that matters on digi chs is content and times
