Burgo quizzes Minister on asylum seekers for a good cause

Video: John Burgess has filmed a cheeky parody in which he "quizzes" the Immigration Minister on asylum seekers.

2014-03-05_1734Legendary game show host ‘Baby’ John Burgess has filmed a cheeky parody in which he “quizzes” Immigration Minister Scott Morrison on asylum seekers.

“Let’s get into the final round. In last week’s riot on Manus Island, where was an asylum seeker shot?” he asks as part of Burgo’s Question Time.

Answering the question is a cleverly-edited version of Morrison behind a game show podium. But as he spruiks a departmental answer, Burgo rules him incorrect.

Assorted epic fails ensue, while driving home some political point-scoring.

The scene was put together by digital comedy troupe A Rational Fear, featuring comedian Dan Ilic, which is hoping to offer political satire on the web.

The group is currently asking for pledges via Pozible.

“Our team of writers, researchers, journalists and creators will launch the brand new A Rational Fear website and fill it with daily content tackling power, politics, media, society and much doge,” says the project.

Last week Ilic and Lewis Hobba even pranked Wake Up in the process.

  1. @tvluvatv – that’s a bit harsh. I expect you’ll be having a crack at Pete Smith next.

I haven’t watched any of Wake Up but that 2nd clip seemed pretty amateur. The hosts appeared really awkward and uncomfortable and it wasn’t just to do with the t-shirts. I don’t know how anyone could watch for however long it’s on in the mornings (mind you, I think that about the other morning shows as well).
