Airdate: Wil Anderson presents Just For Laughs 2014

Wil Anderson presents big name acts plus Aussies Dave Hughes, Adam Hills, Felicity Ward & Joel Creasey.

2014-09-24_1113Seven will screen a new Montreal comedy special Wil Anderson presents Just For Laughs 2014 in October.

There are plenty of big international names in this plus Aussie acts Dave Hughes, Adam Hills, Felicity Ward and Joel Creasey.

From New York to Montreal, comedian Wil Anderson takes the back seat in a convertible Cadillac with Adam Hills and Dave Hughes, as host and tour-guide to the largest international comedy festival in the world.

According to Wil Anderson, 2014 is the biggest year for Australian comedy acts in the history of Just For Laughs Montreal Festival – more than 10 of our best are represented on stage. “I am just glad they let us all through customs after Tony Abbott called it ‘Canadia’,” he said.

Featuring the cream of the 2014 Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, Wil Anderson takes centre stage alongside world renowned comedians including: Chevy Chase, Gabriel Iglesias (always a sell-out on Oz tours), Ryan Hamilton (touted as the new Jerry Seinfeld), Caroline Rhea (played Hilda Spellman in Sabrina – The Teenage Witch), Tommy Tiernan (Irish favourite around the world), Alonzo Bodden (most recent winner of Last Comic Standing), The Boy With Tape on His Face (Sam Wills) and US comedy legend Don Rickles.

Aussie comedians featured in the special include Dave Hughes, Adam Hills, Felicity Ward, Joel Creasey (Australia’s latest rising star), and of course Wil Anderson gets his shining moment on stage too.

The one hour comedy special starts in New York’s comedy club circuit, where Wil road-tests his latest material; he then gets lost in Times Square; and finally joins his mates Dave Hughes and Adam Hills at the world’s biggest comedy gig in Montreal.

For a real taste of Montreal, Adam Hills and Dave Hughes join Wil at Canada’s landmark culinary destination – the famous 24 hour diner that proudly serves the national dish ‘Poutine’ – greasy fried chips smothered in cheese curds and beef gravy.

“Poutine is a meal for anyone who looks at deep-fried potato and thinks that’s not unhealthy enough. They say the human body is 90% water, after a week in Montreal it’s 90% cheese and gravy,” Wil said.

The Aussie comic trio make a fast getaway in their 1961 Caddilac convertible to cruise the streets for comedic inspiration and indigestion.

Thursday 2nd October at 9pm on Seven.
