Network stars “Stuck in the Middle” for Mental Health

Video: Network stars put rivalries aside for a good cause.

2014-10-08_2352Network faces including Simon Reeve, Samantha Armytage, Peter Overton, Jessica Rowe, Richard Wikins, Lee Lin Chin, Carrie Bickmore and Angela Bishop warm up their vocal cords for a good cause, in this music video for ABC’s Friday Night Crack Up.

Simon Reeve takes lead vocals in a Brady Bunch-style rendition of “Stuck in the Middle” originally by Stealers Wheel.

Broadcast live-to-air, in front of a studio audience, Friday Night Crack Up is a two hours variety with musical numbers, in-studio parlour games, sketches from Australia’s best known and funniest comedians.

Friday Night Crack-Up host Eddie Perfect said, “I can’t lie. I have no idea how a live television variety show in support of Mental Health Week is going to work because none of us have done this before. What I do know is that we have an unprecedented line-up of singers, actors, musicians, comedians and writers joining together despite their conflicting network affiliations, throwing caution to the wind and bringing their considerable gifts to the table in support of mental health.

“It’s precisely my anarchic idea of a good time, actually. It’s time to talk about mental health; an issue which eventually touches every single one of us. Might as well enjoy ourselves while we’re at it.”

Friday Night Crack-Up screens Friday 10 October at 7.30pm on ABC.

  1. Good on Dickie for getting involved – even if he does look out of it. Loving Mental Health week on ABC. ‘Changing Minds’ has been fantastic its thought provoking tv. So much better than UK show reruns.

  2. LOL at the comments re Dickie.
Looking decidedly frayed around the edges.
But good on him and all involved, coming together for such a worthy cause.

Will definitely be watching – should be highly entertaining.
