2014-11-29_1931The 150th episode of comedy podcast I Love Green Guide Letters will be recorded at a Live event in Melbourne on Saturday.

Steele Saunders, who dissects TV viewer letters sent to The Age with celebrities, will appear with guests including Fiona O’Loughlin,Ed Kavalee, Ronny Chieng and more.

A man and his cat sit in their lounge room reading the Green Guide. Could be anyone right? Except this man and this cat are joined by Australian comedy illuminati. Wil Anderson, Andy Lee, Derryn Hinch, Rove McManus, Jane Kennedy, Dave Hughes, Peter Helliar, Greg Fleet, Jane Kennedy, Fiona O’Loughlin, Tom Ballard, Ajay Rochester have all graced the couches of Melbourne recording studio.

Each week Saunders invites two comedians to join him in a discussion around that week’s complaint letters to the Green Guide. Tapping into the public zeitgeist each episode is loosely structured around written complaints and guest dependent, may be completely derailed into an hour-long musing of pop-culture, self-deprecation and wit. Some of Saunders’ more notorious podcasts have found him read Green Guide complaint letters directly to the subjects of those complaints; including Derryn Hinch and Neighbours’ Toadfish.

  1. the green guide letters are a load of crap, they recycle the same old whingers week in week out. so and so mispronounced this or that.
most of the time I think the age writes it themselves

  2. “Comedy illuminati”?

I’m hoping he meant “comedy luminaries”, but the images the former conjures up really are quite entertaining nonetheless!
