Seven Chief Operating Officer resigns

Seven to appoint a Director of Television following a shake up of its management team.

2014-12-03_2305Nick Chan, Chief Operating Officer at Seven for the past decade, has resigned.

The announcement of his departure came on the same day Seven confirmed the resignation of Melbourne Programmer, Graeme Hill after 33 years.

Chan’s departure is accompanied by a shake-up of Seven West Media’s management structure.

CEO, Tim Worner retains direct management responsibility for the broadcast television business with a Director of Television Operations to be appointed.

“We are sorry to be losing Nick. We will miss him. We are grateful to him for his contribution to the success of our business. He will always have a large number of friends at Seven and he has been a valuable colleague. Nick has built up a great team here and leaves the business in excellent shape,” said Worner.

“The new management structure streamlines reporting lines and responsibilities and is part of our
ongoing plan of driving greater efficiencies and integration across our business as well as focusing on what we do best: creating content and delivering that content to our audiences anywhere anytime.”

Chan, who was also CEO of Pacific Magazines, said: “Seven and especially Pacific Magazines have been a special part of my life. I feel privileged and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented, dedicated and passionate group of people.”

Chairman of Seven West Media, Kerry Stokes said: “I and the Board endorse Tim’s new structure and the drive to further enhance the company’s performance. Nick has done a great job. We believe this new structure will further strengthen the company.”

Clive Dickens, recently appointed Chief Digital Officer, oversees online and new forms of content from next month while Peter Zavecz has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer, Pacific Magazines.
