Seven Melbourne programmer resigns

Graeme Hill has resigned from Seven after 33 years with the network.

sevennetworkLong-term Melbourne programming manager Graeme Hill has resigned after 33 years with the network.

Hill, who has served 14 years in Melbourne, ends on a high with Seven network topping the city for 2014, including the past 8 years in a row.

He is widely regarded as one of the industry’s nice guys in a cut-throat business.

“Seven has been a big part of my life and I’d like to thank everyone for their support – and the laughs – over the years. It’s great to go out on top with another win and I’m looking forward to having a nice long holiday,” he said.

Lewis Martin, Managing Director of Seven Melbourne, added: “We’ll miss Hilly but after 33 years of service we also understand the decision. He leaves our Melbourne station in great shape and we wish him every success for the future.”

In his absence, veteran programming consultant John Stephens -previously at the centre of a legal wrangle with Network TEN- will assume the role in a “caretaker capacity.”

Hill is believed to be ending his role next week.

  1. This will be a huge loss to Seven. Hill has worked mighty hard to get Melbourne competitive again after years of blunders before him. He will be hard to replace.
