Sam Smith to sing at Logies

British soul crooner Sam Smith becomes the first confirmed act for the 2015 Logie Awards.

The singer is the first performer confirmed for the awards.

The Grammy winner is expected to perform Lay Me Down at the ceremony, which takes place in early May.

News Corp suggests former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson is also tipped to be confirmed, plus The Voice coaches Ricky Martin and Delta Goodrem.

Nominees for the 2015 awards will be revealed on Sunday afternoon.

  1. Okay, so we have one international singer as a guest. Now, let’s leave it at that so the ceremony does not run on for four hours.

    More focus on the awards and less time on endless musical acts will get the Logies done in about half the time.

    Nine, pay attention please.

  2. just stick with one international guest, and have Australian performers be there. I don’t want to see the night drag on because of the multiple international singers that have little relevance on “Australia’s Night of Nights”.

    I hope the Logies have a host this year. The last few awards seemed to lack a host/structure.

    I’m looking forward to the nominations announcement on Sunday.

  3. and his connection to the Australian TV scene is ? I know the organisers will say that its for entertainment but watching at home it is just a musical number. Looks like we are running with the same format and rundown as it has been for the past 30 years. No wonder numbers are down.
