Intrepid BBC reporter Louis Theroux, who has produced plenty of ‘immersive’ documentaries, is about to have the cameras turned on himself by Scientologists.

It follows his plans for a documentary called Stairway to Heaven: Louis Theroux and the Church of Scientology.

“Just been informed by Scientology lawyers that Scientology is working on a documentary about me. Little bit excited; little bit nervous,” he posted on Twitter.

“People seem even more excited to see Scientology’s doc about me than my doc about Scn. Maybe I should have just made a doc about myself?”

He’s previously said of his own film: “The idea is . . . for it to be a nonjudgmental inquiry into Scientology beliefs and practices, from inside the Church.”

Theroux also made an open call on Twitter to Scientologists to participate in his film.

HBO also recently produced Going Clear doco, directed by Alex Gibney, based on Lawrence Wright’s 2013 book.

    1. Or the sort of science that argues that boys who run will become circumcised. Some of the so called ‘scientific arguments’ I have seen have no actual scientific basis whatsoever.

  1. So basically Scientology is going to be stalking Louis Theroux under the guise of a ‘documentary’. I’ve never heard of a cult/religion so paranoid, they must spend more on lawyers than the Mafia.
