‘Nan’ to return in Catherine Tate specials

Catherine Tate is dusting off the irascible ‘Nan’ for a series of specials for the BBC.

After most recently playing the character during the Royal Variety Performance, she will re-appear in two half hour specials in 2016.

BBC’s Controller of Comedy Commissioning Shane Allen, said, “Nan is one of the most iconic comedy characters of our time and it’s thrilling to welcome her back to BBC One.

“Catherine’s performance is as close to comic perfection as you can get.”

  1. Catherine Tate as ‘Nan’ is brilliant indeed, hope that her perfect foil Matthew Horne as her grandson is also going to be there.

  2. One of the funniest characters ever, absolutely brilliant. Anyone who is not familiar with Catherine Tate’s characters, especially “Nan”, should do themselves a favour and look her up on YouTube.
