Sunrise has announced Keith Urban will be a guest co-host with Samantha Armytage on Monday.

The American Idol judge is the first of 5 celebrity co-hosts to appear across a week of Sunrise shows.

No word if he will be co-hosting with the same American drawl that seems to pervade his singing, though (yes, I realise it’s country & western, but don’t forget ya roots, Mr U!).

More co-hosts will be announced soon.

You are right Catherine, both Kylie and Larry have had different presenters each day when one of them has been on holiday or sick, and disagree that its a News Programme like TVTim says, its an enjoyable light entertainment show, a mixture of everything but with news added, and I think Keith Urban will be a great change for Sunrise.

  2. Thats a bit harsh on Sam and the comments about flirting her way through. When Larry has been away Kylie has had 5 different male co hosts in the pat that havent exactly been ugly and Larry the same having 5 female co hosts.

    Keith will be interesting. It will be nice to see him in a different environment. I wonder who the other 4 co hosts will be. Its a shame matt white went back to 10 because I always enjoyed him on it when Kochie is away. Im not a huge fan of AOK doing it. Larry was great today.

  4. So is he co hosting for the entire 3 hours?? If that is the case it’s ridiculous!! First and foremost it is a news program, what will happen when there is a major news story? Other male journos at Ch7 must be thrilled with this news.
    No doubt Sam will flirt her way through the entire week with any of the super star male co hosts they will have.
