MINOR SPOILER: The dome is finally coming down on Under the Dome.

CBS entertainment chief Nina Tassler told reporters this week at the Television Critics Association’s tour, “The dome is coming down at the end of this season.”

That’s no doubt a relief to the few who have stuck with the Stephen King show after getting no answers at the end of the first season.

Finally at the end of the third season, currently screening on TEN, there will be some shift.

But does it mean the end? Not necessarily.

The dome coming down “opens up a host of other storytelling possibilities,” Tassler said.

“We’re not making a decision just yet” on the show’s renewal.

Nuts!

  1. The Dome has already come down once even if it was an illusion, perhaps the story was an illusion after all. The American audience must be easily pleased if there is another season of this soapy show, whether we see it depends on channel 10 of course, but as it is already in a graveyard time slot it doesn’t look likely.

  2. Yeah, I’ve lost interest. Characters with constantly changing morality who I struggle to care about, and Barbie (really?!) is a hot dude with the fakest beard on television.

  3. I am one of the few who have actually stuck around to see this series through. I’m also one of the few who have actually been watching this on Ten! While I am excited that the dome is finally coming down, this news doesn’t look good for the future of the show. It is after all called “Under the Dome”
