Long-running E! clip show The Soup will end in December.
The Joel McHale-hosted series will end its run in the US on December 18th. McHale took charge from 2004 after a predecessor Talk Soup began in 2001 with Greg Kinnear.
Hollywood Reporter notes McHale has balanced a busy schedule hat’s included film work, several seasons on Community, hosting White House Correspondents Dinner, and the forthcoming X-Files reboot.
“We are incredibly proud of the long-running success of The Soup. [The show] has delivered countless laughs and unforgettable episodes, and we are grateful to the talented team’s fearless wit and clever approach week after week,” E! executive Jeff Olde said in a statement.
“Joel took the show to new heights for more than a decade, and his irreverent humor and unique brand of comedy as captured so perfectly on The Soup will be missed.”
In the weeks leading up to the finale, McHale is expected to reflect on the franchise’s most memorable moments.

And there goes the only show I watch on E!.
No no no no no no no no. Love this show. Obviously, the only sign of intelligence on E! so I guess doomed. In a strange way it reminded me of Harry Hill’s TV Burp
I guess Joel could only get away with making fun of E! and The Kardashians for so long before they noticed.
Such a shame. I liked The Soup, a lot. It was the only show I watched on E!.
Pretty much the only E! show that isn’t steaming hot garbage, so of course it has to go…
Noooo! It is a great show, one of my favourites. I guess Joel McHale is on the rise and doesn’t have the time.
Serves them right. If you can’t spell “casserole” properly, you shouldn’t be on TV…
Guess they have to make more room for another Carcrashian spin-off.
