More cast members from Wayward Pines are confirmed to return.
Melissa Leo (Nurse Pam), Hope Davis (Megan Fisher), Toby Jones (Dr. Jenkins/David Pilcher) and Terrence Howard (Sheriff Arnold Pope).
Also returning are Shannyn Sossamon (Theresa Burke), Tim Griffin (Adam Hassler), Charlie Tahan (Ben Burke), Carla Gugino (Kate Hewson) and Tom Stevens (Jason Higgins).
The second season returns to the unhinged town with Jason Patric as Dr. Theo Yedlin, a new resident who awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race.

Terrence Howard is returning ?
His character is dead
Dead does not mean dead in TV anymore, especially in a wacky show like this. Perhaps it is a prequel.
The inclusion of Shannyn Sossamon would almost completely rule out a prequel though I would have thought… It literally wouldn’t make sense…
I’m now perhaps a little concerned about this… Despite a number of the cast that made season 1 enjoyable all returning… It seems they may be stretching the friendship.
My understanding is that S2 is to be about the time after a second period of anarchy (when the town goes crazy again after being told the truth) and with the kids now in charge. So Sheriff Pope could simply appear in flashbacks. Or maybe he miraculously survived being shot and then eaten by abhumans.
