Returning: Homeland

Exclusive: Homeland fans get a new series from Sunday February 12th on TEN.

EXCLUSIVE: Many Homeland fans have been awaiting news of the 6th season premiere which debuted earlier this week in the US.

TV Tonight can reveal it will begin Sunday February 12th on TEN, the first day of the ratings year. For those doing the sums, three episodes will have aired in the US by then.

A timeslot is yet to be confirmed -but I’d tip 9:30pm after 24. (Updated: Confirmed for 9:30pm Sunday Feb 12).

The season is set in New York sees Carrie (Claire Danes) working at a foundation whose efforts are to provide aid to Muslims living in the US and takes place between election day and inauguration day.

  1. I wonder why Stan or Foxtel didn’t bid for this show, it fits more into their pay TV lineup than having Homeland mucked about with on Ten. It”s great that FTA are still buying U.S. shows, the problem is, as discussed in these columns, is the way viewers get treated. Ratings are a killer, time changes happen, gaps appear in programming, viewers eventually lose interest. Even after all the bleating by FTA adverts saying view it or lose it, no one in the commercial industry cares to learn any lessons about modern viewing habits.

  2. Good news.. we’ll only be a month behind US.. But what can you do?!

Seems like 5-7 years ago same day was the big thing, but we’re usually a month or more behind most shows these days.

  3. Too little, too late 10. If you are a fan of the show and not into waiting, you would of already seen the first episode(or by the time 10 airs it, first 3 episodes), Obv by “other means”.

  4. What a great line up for ch 10 on Sunday nights. I’m a celebrity, 24 Legacy & Homeland. A shame 10 isn’t fast tracking it like in the past. Maybe they’ll do double episodes till we catch up.
