The fifth and final season of Bates Motel begins next week, express from the US.
It screens from 9:30pm Tuesday February 21 on Showcase, same day as the USA.
Season five is also poised to introduce singer Rhianna as Marion Crane, the iconic character portrayed by Janet Leigh in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho.
The haunting fifth and final season of the critically acclaimed drama, from writers and executive producers Kerry Ehrin and Carlton Cuse begins two years after the death of Norma. Emmy-nominated actress Vera Farmiga returns for double duty as executive producer while also reprising her role as ‘Mother’ who is very much alive and well but only in the twisted, complicated mind of ‘Norman Bates’ played by Freddie Highmore. New faces, including Rihanna as Marion Crane (the character Janet Leigh played in Albert Hitchcock’s movie Psycho), find their way to the Bates Motel to further complicate Norman’s life and threaten to unearth his dark secrets.
