Family Feud relocating to Studio 10

Production changes in TEN's Pyrmont base will have a knock-on effect for Studio 10 too.

Suggestions that Family Feud will relocate to Sydney are part of a wider move for production at TEN’s Pyrmont headquarters.

Yesterday TEN talked down much of the changes published by News Corp including direct denials including Shark Tank, TEN Eyewitness News and The Biggest Loser (the latter is already axed). They were part of now-outdated recommendations from a Blue Horizon “transformation and growth” report.

But it steered clear of addressing rumours on Family Feud moving to Sydney.

TV Tonight understands the game show will move to the current studio where Studio 10 is filmed. It is also the studio where The Living Room, The Sunday Project and, more recently, Cram, record.

Ramping up the shows in the space means Studio 10 will move to where TEN News broadcasts. Hopefully it doesn’t impact on audience size too much -it’s a critical point of difference for the show.

In its new space Family Feud will doubtless require some adjustment to its set, shooting depth and audience size, compared to Melbourne’s NEP studios. While it’s bad news for the show’s freelance Melbourne crew it’s good news for NSW based host Grant Denyer.

It’s not clear when the changes will occur, but sources suggest this year.

Yesterday TEN did not respond to questions about Family Feud‘s move.

  1. What’s going on here? I remember when pretty much all 10’s main studio work was in Melbourne. GMA with Bert, (and the programs that took it’s place like 9am with David & Kim and The Circle), Rove, Before The Game, Thank God You’re Here, Talkin’ Bout Your Generation, The Panel etc. The Project is mainly still there but I’m surprised that they didn’t at least do Cram there.

  2. I have been in the audience a couple of times for this and it was only ever half full so I think that bit can only help them because when they film the final round everyone has to shuffle around to make it look like there’s no empty seats.

    1. I went to a taping of The Living Room in Sydney once and it was a full house. I don’t think there are as many opportunities to be in a live audience in Sydney as there are in Melbourne (ABC excepted).
