ABC managing director Michelle Guthrie has noted in the past that Rosehaven was one of her favourite shows.
Yesterday at the Annual Public Meeting she told the audience, ”
We are committed to an ABC that nurtures our creative communities.
You will see more of the distinctive programs you love like Gruen, Rake, Rosehaven and Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell.”
ABC is yet to formally announce the show’s return although Head of Programming Rebecca Heap acknowledged this week that several comedies would have updates soon.
Yesterday’s meeting also included a video that revealed “new War on Waste” and David Attenborough’s Tasmania.
Updated: ABC confirms Rosehaven has been renewed.

Surely she wouldn’t be so clueless as to prevent a renewal.
But then, it seems that Michelle Guthrie is being “credited” with the damage done to ABC Radio, so I don’t know whether to trust her judgement.
To be fair, it isn’t generally her decision. Up to Comedy & Programming, and these things take time.
No she didn’t. She said more content like Rosehaven and the others. The ABC will announce the future of Rosehaven, once Sundance has decided (since they are putting up most of the money in exchange for the US rights).
Semantics. That would be like saying we will produce more shows like Rake, Jack Irish, Doctor Blake and someone would have advised to drop Blake reference. My tip is a return.
Oh, I hope so. I love that show.
