I imagine that at least some delay will be necessary for TEN in the event of any episodes or storylines that cannot be accommodated at the PG rating. Back when TEN were screening B&B with a G rating (still dumbfounded by how they got away with it for so many years considering the nature of the show), they sliced and diced and often reused scenes from prior (or subsequent) episodes to make up for the content that was cut. They also had to (almost?) completely excise a storyline some years ago that involved Brooke getting raped.
Thanks for filing this David.
A smart reader alerted me.
This will bring B&B on par with Days and Y&R, which are now showing up to date episodes on Foxtel. The catch up won’t be so long as Y&R was last year with a massive 5 months of two hours a day. Perhaps ten should stop short about a week, so as not to be out of episodes when the US pre-empts, which is what happens for the soaps on Foxtel. Either way, as I have weaned off my soap viewing, it doesn’t affect me.
Nothing to stop TEN going same day as the US. A simple in-vision announcement advising of a preemption will appease the regular eyeballs. A classic ep could even be screened should a preemption need to occur.
That’s what they do for the foxtel soaps, and it happens intermittedly throughout the year. All I was saying is if they had a back log of say a week of episodes, it would delay that occasion happening.
Who cares? Well maybe the thousands who watch the show and are annoyed about continually hearing about stories that won’t air here for months. If you don’t watch it why does it worry you one way or another? Good on Ten!
An hour of the B and the B is ridiculous. Who cares if it is 9 weeks behind the US the story lines are all the same just with different characters. In fact you could still tune in at 4:30 and not have missed anything.
Rates quite well for TEN.
They should screen Y&R also.
Y&R and DOOL are on Eleven in Win areas (although a few years behind).
Current episodes of DOOL and Y&R are shown on Foxtel’s Arena Channel. It used to be on Channel 9 but management decided to sell it to Foxtel.
The episodes currently being shown on 11 WIN are from 2011.
