Nine Perth will screen a 30 minute special, The Tour: Perth Children’s Hospital, on the new $1.2b Perth Children’s Hospital presented by Nine News‘ Scherri-Lee Biggs.
Nine Perth Program Manager, Graeme Hill, said: “This is a special time for everyone in Perth, the beginning of a new era. We have a new state-of-the-art hospital, so let’s show it off.”
On first look, this building is an architect’s dream – step inside and you will be amazed. But it does not stop there. We will show you the life-saving equipment and cutting-edge technology the doctors and surgeons will be using to care for and operate on our children.
Viewers will hear from the designers, architects and medical practitioners who have played a critical role in the development of the new hospital.
All remaining patients from Princess Margaret Hospital will be moved to the new hospital. The Perth Children’s Hospital emergency department opens on Sunday, June 10.

The WA govt is running ads on TV for the opening of the hospital which is nonsensical-it’s not a place one chooses to go to-it is what it is, a public specialist service. For people in the Eastern states who may not be aware, the project has been beset by delays, cost over runs and genuine ‘Yes Minister’ moments.
