True Detective: trailer

HBO has released a trailer for the third season of True Detective.

The anthology series returns to the US in January, with Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) as Wayne Hays, state police detective from Northwest Arkansas.

Season 3 also stars Mamie Gummer, Stephen Dorff and Carmen Ejogo and includes with series creator/exec producer Nic Pizzolatto in his directorial debut.

Fingers crossed it is better than the disappointing second season which lacked director Cary Fukunaga.

A date is yet to be confirmed for Australia, but is expected to be fast-tracked to Showcase in January.
