Bumped: Wentworth

ABC has made a change to its Thursday nights.

ABC will move Wentworth’s second season to a later timeslot from next week.

It will move to an 11:10pm timeslot, due low ratings. That’s no criticism of the show itself, the episodes are years old due to Foxtel owning the rights, and diehard fans have likely seen it either on Pay TV or DVD.

It will be replaced by repeats of Endeavour.

9:30pm tonight / 11:10pm next week on ABC.

  1. I’m another viewer who doesn’t subscribe to PayTV and haven’t seen Wentworth yet. I think a bigger issue than its age might be the complete lack of publicity the ABC gives it. I had no idea the second season had started until my Fetch box started recording it.

  2. The ABC’s programmers are crazy. I want to watch In the Line of Duty tonight but have to put up with the third repeat of Father Brown this year slotted in before it. Thank God for iView

  3. Yes, a good question! But I very much doubt if a repeat of Endeavour would rate much better. They may as well have left the remaining episodes in the current time slot. Anyway, as one of the few who hasn’t previously seen Wentworth, I’m very much enjoying it. Very doubtful though now that ABC will keep screening further seasons..

  4. The question being why it was obtained in the 1st place for ABC and then placed in primetime again after having failed for the 1st season last year! -”Insanity is doing the exact same thing again and expecting a different result….”
