Returning: Wentworth

Season 2 comes to ABC introducing Pamela Rabe as Joan Ferguson.

Season 2 of Wentworth will screen on ABC from next week which is good for Free to Air viewers given the first season drew low numbers.

Screening on Foxtel in 2014, this season introduces Pamela Rabe as Joan Ferguson.

For season two, the Wentworth story picks up three months after Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack) killed Jacs Holt. Liz Birdsworth (Celia Ireland), Doreen Anderson (Shareena Clanton) and Sue ‘Boomer’ Jenkins (Katrina Milosevic) are still serving time, and while Bea has been languishing in the slot, Franky Doyle (Nicole da Silva) has risen to the position of top dog unopposed.

The sudden arrival of new Governor Joan Ferguson (Pamela Rabe) is about to change all that.

Ferguson’s mandate is to clean up Wentworth and restore order at any cost to the inmates and her staff – Deputy Governor Vera Bennett (Kate Atkinson) and Corrections Officers Matthew ‘Fletch’ Fletcher (Aaron Jeffery) and Will Jackson (Robbie Magasiva).

9:20pm Thursday October 11 on ABC.

  2. Fantastic news ! Pleasantly surprised that they’re airing S2 so soon after the first season as quite a few posters on this site were under the impression it would be at least a year, if at all! Loved S1 but sounds like S2 is even better – really looking forward to watching.

  3. Dear Anyone Who Hasn’t Watched Wentworth Yet,
Please get on this. Season 1 was excellent but if you CBF’d to binge it before season two, just jump in anyways coz it keeps getting even better with every episode. You won’t regret it.
