TV Tonight turns 12!

Thanks to readers for your ongoing passion in all things TV.

TV Tonight marks 12 years online today (plus a few more on radio before that….).

The site remains the industry go-to, with an enviable archive over 61,000 posts across Free to Air, Pay TV & Streaming and 467,000+ comments. Across 2018 there were scoops, breaking news and featured sections for Upfronts, Pilot Week, Logies, Eurovision & Commonwealth Games as well as a Nostalgia Week series.

My continued thanks to you for your ongoing loyalty, but first an apology from me.

Last year I flagged a site refresh, which has taken longer than expected. A redesign has been underway to be revealed soon. Progress has also been made with Network 10 and I look forward to resuming Programming posts asap.

Results of the TV Tonight Awards will be published next week, with Hiatus to conclude at the end of the month and the annual Programmers’ Wrap ahead of ratings returning.

At this time of year I also look back on the interviews the site conducted in the last 12 months . Once again this is a ‘who’s who’ of stars (both veterans & emerging), CEOs, execs, writers, directors, producers  & crew -and that’s not including red carpet chats!

  1. Happy birthday!! It is much appreciated all the hard work you put in to the site. I’m glad progress has been made with 10, especially after all the publicity & attention you gave them for pilot week.

  2. “TV” is in weird transitional times when I spend more hours per week reading TV Tonight than watching actual live FTA TV. Congrats Mr Knox.

      1. Wow – great mission statement there. Defo smashed it, and not Melb centric, very national. Funny to see some of the same shows still on air, and equally how much the landscape has changed. Congrats again.

      2. Happy anniversary! I remember TV Tonight as a segment on Joy FM, I used to tune in on my drive home specifically for it, and that’s where I heard you first announce the launch of the website.

      3. Wow thanks for that. Interesting to read your first ever post. Just thinking back to what I was doing back then. I was living in Tweed Heads & had been living on the Gold Coast for 6 months. I didn’t even own a computer back then. Got one later that year. No extra channels or streaming back then. Wow, how much has changed since then?

  3. Happy Birthday! That’s a huge list of interviews for the past year. Would be interested to know who you’d love to interview dead or alive, but haven’t had the chance to do so.

  4. Happy Birthday! Thanks for all the hard work, tracking down the gossip, verifying how much truth is in it. Your interviews, your series previews and recommendations. In fact everything you do to bring us avid readers the latest news.

  5. Congratulations to TV Tonight for being active for 12 years. There is much gratitude for this site as it provides a place of congregation and a platform for the media and television industry, governing organisations and public to view and share information for the betterment of arts, culture, entertainment, media and technology.

  6. HaPpY bIrThDaY DaViD! Such an exhaustive list of people you interviewed. How you have time to reply to our questions and comments I just don’t know but don’t stop. We love the effort you put into this site. Can’t wait for what 2019 brings. I’m particularly looking forward to The Cry and The Letdown on the ABC, Taboo, Australian Survivor, MCA on 10 and hopefully some quality dramas will screen on all networks.

  7. Happy Birthday to you, this amazing blog! I also hope all your loyal followers are as happy as I am that this blog exists, it is still going and is such a great source of information!

  8. As far as l.am.concerned it is us readers who thanks you for the efforts you put in to make us more informed. I say congrats to you and the 12 plus years of blood, sweat and years you put in. It is very much appreciated David.
