Crocmedia has reportedly been in discussion with Nine about a new AFL show.
The Herald Sun reports Richmond’s Alex Rance, Carlton’s Sam Docherty and Hawthorn’s Jarryd Roughead have been linked to the program with SEN’s Sam McClure, who parted ways with Seven recently, as host. It was reportedly given the green light.
The format is understood to “give players their own voice” and is rumoured for a post-Footy Classified slot.
Crocmedia, co-founded by Craig Hutchison, already produces a slew of sports entertainment titles on TV and radio including Off the Bench, Women’s Footy, Future Stars, AFL Nation, NRL Nation and more.
Nine is yet to confirm its plans for a new-look Footy Show, or its replacement, to be produced by Eddie McGuire’s JAM TV.
AFL’s Premiership season kicks off on Thursday March 21st.

A show created by Craig Hutchinson and possibly hosted by Sam McClure? Yeah, that’s a hard pass.
No AFL show will ever match Before The Game, it needs to come back!
Bring back The Footy Show!
Thank god for the Front Bar is all I can say.
