Sometimes TV shows get a bit creative with the way they code their titles with OzTAM, usually to elevate their figures.
Reality show finales and eliminations, post-game matches, even two halves of a 6pm bulletin are all part of the creative ways the numbers are divvied up.
Last night however, ABC coded its 2 hour Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala into 5 separate portions.
Melbourne Comedy Festival- EV 384,000
Melbourne Comedy Festival- EV 387,000
Melbourne Comedy Festival- EV 364,000
Melbourne Comedy Festival- LE 345,000
Melbourne Comedy Festival- LE 266,000
While there were Oxfam promos in between each, the briefest of these ran for 17 minutes.
In OzTAM official figures, it shows up as two numbers, as an average of the EV and LE titles.

Seriously?!….*shaking my head in disbelief*
It has been joked before, but we will now be seeing the news coded into 5 segments too:
Major News Stories; Other News, Sports, Weather and funny banter between the presenters.
May as well just report minute by minute figures and report the peak and just be done with it. It’s becoming an absolute joke when networks do this. It’s the equivalent of saying a sports team did well cos’ they outscored the opposition in the third quarter.
Half of the people viewing this were from Victoria.
This should be the April Fools Day gag. Unbelievable.
