Renewed: Bloom

Amid the double Logie win was the good news that Stan drama is headed for a second season.

In the rapture for Bloom‘s double Logie win on Sunday, was the news that Stan boss Mike Sneesby confirmed a second season.

Bloom created by Glen Dolman picked up Most Outstanding Miniseries / Telemovie while Jacki Weaver won Most Outstanding Supporting Actress.

“Stan is proud to be part of our local production industry and grateful for the opportunity to work on productions like Bloom with the remarkable creatives who bring these shows to life,” said Sneesby. “Our wholehearted congratulations go out to Jacki for her well-deserved recognition at this year’s TV Week Logie Awards.”

Directed by John Curran (Tracks, Chappaquiddick, Praise) and Mat King (Wentworth), Bloom was written by Dolman,  Matt Cameron (Sunshine) and Alison Nisselle (Parer’s War). Shot by cinematographer Geoff Hall (Wolf Creek) and produced by Sue Seeary (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, House Husbands), the series was executive produced by David Maher and David Taylor for Playmaker in association with Sony Pictures Television.

  1. I enjoyed Bloom but without Bryan Brown and Jackie Weaver in the main roles the show may have lacked a bit of much needed charisma to carry the story through. To my mind this was a one season show but I guess it may have retained sufficient viewer intrigue to continue on. Hopefully Bloom will find some new twists and turns for season 2.
