Bachelorette up but Block wins showdown

Ratings: Season launch with Angie Kent improves on 2018 & leads demos, but The Block claims the win.

The Bachelorette featuring Angie Kent is up on 2018’s launch but it wasn’t enough to halt The Block.

The Block won at 7:30 with 855,000 to The Bachelorette‘s 716,000 in an extended slot. That was better than 2018’s launch of 685,000 with Ali Oetjen. Bachelorette also led the demos.

Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery (595,000), 7:30 (578,000), Bride and Prejudice (397,000) all followed.

Overruns notwithstanding Gruen won its slot on 715,000 with a Utopia finale at 571,000 at 9pm then Love Island (290,000), Britain’s Got Talent (267,000 from 9pm) and the return of Struggle Street (259,000).

Nine network won Wednesday with 26.4% then Seven 25.1%, 10 22.3%, ABC 17.8% and SBS 8.5%.

Nine News drew 792,000 / 775,000 for Nine then A Current Affair (707,000). Hot Seat was 404,000 / 248,000. Grand Hotel was 118,000.

Seven News was #1 with 934,000 / 874,000 for Seven then Home and Away (573,000) and The Chase (525,000 / 311,000).

The Project was 465,000 / 261,000 for 10 then 10 News First (331,000). A Swinging Safari movie was 213,000. Celebrity Name Game pulled 174,000.

ABC News (624,000), The Drum (155,000) and The Set (129,000) comprised ABC’s remaining shows.

On SBS it was Britain’s Ancient Tracks (243,000),  SBS World News (145,000) and The Looming Tower (87,000).

NCIS on 10 BOLD led multichannels at 167,000.

  1. Watched The Bachelorette…TV was still on when that movie came on…what was that?
    I watched Home Delivery this afternoon on iview….Di Smith/back up singer…wonder who the other lady was…and the band…do they do regular gigs?

  2. Watched the first episode of The Bachelorette and I could feel the intelligence drain out of me. If the guys are a section of Australia’s maledom we are doomed.

    1. Probably because it’s been streaming on Amazon Prime for quite some time and is also available on SBS On Demand, so anyone who wants to watch it has probably already done so.
