Emotions high as Lee departs Australian Survivor

Survivor rivalries are put to one side as contestants gather around one of their own.

Australian Survivor‘s Lee Carseldine was forced to leave the game in Monday night’s episode, following news that his mother had suffered a stroke.

There were emotional scenes after Lee was called away to take a phone call from home, learning that his mother, Beth had had a stroke and was in a critical condition.

Isolated in Fiji, the bad news was every player’s worst fear.

In bonding scenes, he was consoled by teammates, many of whom had been his rivals thus far.

Sadly, according to media reports his mother died before he was able to make it home.

Later Moana, AK and Brooke were all sent packing to Exile beach, to be joined by more players tonight.

  1. I think Survivor handled this very nicely, right down to the tribute card at the end of the titles. I was in team Lee and am sad he couldn’t see the end game through.

    1. I think the only thing I would have done differently is have Jonathan on the beach with them to console. Then the next day could have had a clean challenge start. It was a bit swift going from ‘how do you feel’ to ‘ready for next challenge?’ Otherwise it was good gameplay & rivalries stopped for a human moment.

      1. Admittedly, JLP was a bit cold on the delivery to the remaining survivors. “Are you ready to get into the next immunity challenge?”. Everyone else : *Crickets*

  2. Very sad and moving,Survivor is such a fantastic show,I have become such a fan only recently as this is the second series I’ve got in to but theres no going back now

  3. Was very emotional, I’m glad they were all able to support Lee and each other as many of them have built such close bonds while being on the show.

  4. Very sad. And the way they banded together after the news Lee received was very touching. Sad to read his mother passed before he got home 🙁
