US actor best known for Green Acres, has died.

US actor Tom Lester, best known for Green Acres, has died aged 81.

He died on Monday in Nashville, Tennessee, due to complications from Parkinson’s disease, his brother announced on Facebook.

Lester played Eb Dawson on the Green Acres, from 1965 to 1971. He is believed to have been the last surviving cast member.

Lester also appeared in The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction and reprised his role for the telemovie Return to Green Acres in 1990.

“He was the only connection with the youth the show had,” director Richard L. Bare said in 2003.

Other credits included Santa Barbara, Knight Rider, Little House on the Prairie, Marcus Welby MD, Love American Style and Benji.

  1. I really liked that guy when I was a kid. He seemed like the all-American clean-cut farm boy. I liked Mr Haney as well but Eb was younger and was someone the kids could identify with in the show.
