Amanda Laing to oversee Foxtel content

Amanda Laing will oversee Foxtel content as part of a group restructure by CEO Patrick Delany.
Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh will head up a newly created Foxtel Originals division, and Head of FOX Sports Peter Campbell moves to a new role in Product & Strategy. Steve Crawley is now promoted to Executive Director, FOX Sports.
Former Nine executive Amanda Laing became a consultant for Foxtel in 2018 before being appointed as Chief Commercial Officer several months later.
Her title now expands to Chief Commercial and Content Officer with a group-wide responsibility including Entertainment and Sports divisions (including FOX Sports).
Foxtel veteran Brian Walsh takes on a Group-wide responsibility, leading a newly created Foxtel Originals division, commissioning Australian drama, lifestyle, factual and entertainment production.
Steve Crawley, currently FOX Sports Head of Television, becomes Executive Director, FOX Sports, responsible for the running of all sports production, programming, budgets, logistics, and editorial, including for FOX Footy.
Julian Ogrin continues as CEO of streaming businesses Kayo and Binge, with two further appointments: Ant Hearne as Executive Director, Kayo, and Alison Hurbert-Burns as Executive Director, Binge.
Kieren Cooney is Chief Customer, Marketing and Sales Officer, responsible for all customer interactions including service and loyalty, marketing and publicity, creative services as well as residential and commercial sales. Customer service division headed by Lesley Portwain will become part of this Group.
Elsewhere, Rebecca McCloy, Director of Acquisitions and Sports Partnerships and Stephen Baldwin, Director of Entertainment, will report to Amanda Laing.
Peter Campbell becomes Executive Director, Transformation Implementation within Product & Strategy. Patrick Delany said, “This role builds on Peter’s successful track-record of transformation and delivery at FOX Sports, by providing additional executive leadership to drive the next phase of performance improvement across the Foxtel Group, including the introduction of new ways of working. I want to thank Peter for his leadership of FOX Sports and look forward to him contributing to Group outcomes in this new role.”
Chief General Counsel Lynette Ireland, reports to Patrick Delany on Group Compliance, regulatory and shareholder matters.
Chief Product and Strategy Officer Alice Mascia and her partner Mauro di Pietro Paolo, who is Chief Information Officer, plan to return to Italy. Alice Mascia will stay until around the end of the year.
These follow all technology and platforms recently coming together under Les Wigan as Chief Technology and Operations Officer. Finance and Data, and People are overseen by James Marsh, Chief Financial Officer and Sally Connell, Chief People Officer with Foxtel Media under Mark Frain.
“This reorganisation recognises that we are now a more diversified business with interests that extend from the traditional Foxtel business to advertising, sports production, entertainment creation and new streaming businesses,” said Delany.
He added, “It is wonderful to have such a talented group of executives within Foxtel to lead the implementation of our new operating model. The changes create fresh challenges for some of our most experienced executives and new opportunities for the next generation of leaders at Foxtel.”
Changes will be effective from tomorrow.
