Doctor Blake tops UK “most finished” list

Aussie drama beats out hits such as Bodyguard and Line of Duty as being most completed by Brits.

The Doctor Blake Mysteries has been declared the “most finished series on BBC One.”

The series, starring Craig McLachlan & Nadine Garner, has emerged as the series completed by UK viewers according to Media consultancy Enders Analysis.

It’s a remarkable result for the December Media series given it screens on daytime television in the UK.

Primetime and big budget hits Bodyguard and Line of Duty, came in second and third place respectively.

The study is based on analysis of viewing data of British broadcasters from BARB, an industry body that measures who, when and how people are watching TV. It takes into account TV series watched live for the first eight months of 2018, as well as those viewed both live and through on-demand platforms from August 2018 until now.

Sitcom Bad Move, Doc Martin, Homeland, All Creatures Great and Small, Hawaii Five-0, Chernobyl also performed well on their various platforms.

The Doctor Blake Mysteries was cancelled by ABC after 5 seasons.

Despite being picked up by Seven it was forced to pivot to The Blake Mysteries due to 2018 allegations against star Craig McLachlan.

A trial will finally get underway next week after pro-longed delays.

  1. Great result for an Aussie drama. It was worth investing in as a viewer and a well made show.
A more modern crime show, Harrow, I am looking forward to season 3, it is another good quality Aussie crime show. ABC seem to do them well 🙂
