MasterChef Australia has been named as the Most In-Demand Reality Series of 2020 in the 3rd annual Global TV Demand Awards.
Global TV analytics firm, Parrot Analytics, announced the win for the Endemol Shine Australia series, drawn entirely from On Demand data for the period January 1, 2020 – December 31, 2020. In addition to its Australian popularity, the 10 series remains a hit in other countries including India and South Africa.
MasterChef Australia was the only Aussie title to win, and one of the few non-US winners. Game of Thrones won the top prize, despite ending in 2019.
Rick Maier, Network 10 Head of Drama and Executive Production, said: “This is a thrilling reward and acknowledgement for a terrific series of MasterChef Australia. Its international appeal has always been a source of great pride for Marty Benson, his hard-working team at Endemol Shine Australia and Network 10 – showcasing Australian produce, talent and inclusivity to the world.”
