Beyoncé makes Grammys history

At 28 Grammys, Beyoncé is now the most awarded solo artist in history.

Beyoncé has become the most awarded solo artist in Grammy Awards history tallying the most wins ever by a female artist -and by any singer male or female- 28 in all.

The Hollywood Reporter notes during the pre-ceremony she won best rap performance for “Savage” with Megan Thee Stallion and best music video for “Brown Skin Girl.” Later in the evening, Beyoncé won best R&B performance for “Black Parade” and best rap song for “Savage” along with Megan Thee Stallion. She was nominated for 9 Grammys at today’s event.

Her daughter Blue Ivy Carter also became the second-youngest person to win a Grammy at 9 years old.

Taylor Swift also made history as the first woman to win Album of the Year three times.

The 2021 Grammy Awards staged outside the the Staples Center, LA was a socially-distanced presentation with some of the biggest stars in the music industry wearing masks and sitting at small, safely spaced tables.

Beyoncé has now tied with producer Quincy Jones at 28 awards.

Hungarian-British conductor Georg Solti has the most Grammys of anyone with 31.
