Palm Beach location will be demolished but rebuilt with a more modern feel.

The Boathouse Palm Beach, used as exteriors for Home & Away‘s diner & Alf’s Bait House is set to be demolished.
But a new cafe will be built on the same site, the Manly Daily reports.
If the plans submitted to Northern Beaches Council this week are approved, it will take about six months to complete the $4m project, according to Palm Beach Boathouse tenant Andrew Goldsmith.
“Home and Away may have to do some prerecording,” he said.
“Or write something dramatic into the script to explain away the lack of a bait shop.
“Perhaps there could be some sort of explosion.”
Interiors are filmed at Technology Park in Redfern.

Nothing is the same about this show…It use to be wholesome family…foster kids in beach side caravan park….Now a bad clone of Bold & Beautiful…and I do not consider family viewing…strictly young adults…just me…
And as usual Seven’s promo maker misleads with ‘the unmissable week’ that was promoted two weeks ago – which wasn’t last week but may now be this week…maybe. If indeed there are any ‘unmissable’ weeks.
I find it better watching via 7Plus. You get the production “next time” promo instead of the Seven promos that are way too OTT.
The last time I really followed and enjoyed it was the era with Ruby, Charlie, Bianca, Indi, Romeo, Dexter, Xavier, Nicole etc. I think that all ended by 2010, it really doesn’t feel that long ago!
