La Brea: teaser

Here's how Port Melbourne doubles for California when a giant sinkhole opens up in US fantasy adventure.

Whoa.

US adventure fantasy La Brea, currently filming in Victoria, has released a teaser ahead of its US debut.

The series centres around a giant sinkhole opening up and a family being separated when they land back in pre-historic times. As you do.

The production, shooting until late September, is expected to inject more than $71 million into the economy, creating jobs for 290 Australian cast and crew, and use the services of around 295 local businesses. It attracted a $9.66 million grant as part of the Morrison Government’s $540 million Location Incentive.

Australian actors Rohan Mirchandaney (Mystery Road, House Husbands, Hotel Mumbai) and Chloe De Los Santos (Fam Time, The End, Tidelands) join with Nicholas Gonzalez, Eoin Macken, Natalie Zea, John Seda and other US cast.

Blink and you will miss Port Melbourne doubling for California as crowds run wild (you can see that being filmed here).

An Aussie broadcaster is yet to be announced.

  1. I thought that 9/Stan had a deal with NBC Universal (Peacock) who have bought Sky UK and Sky studios. Access to lots of great content. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
