Larry Emdur will make his debut on The Chase on Monday in a 5:30pm slot on Seven.
This presumably means today will be the last for long-running host Andrew O’Keefe.
Emdur said, “I’m thrilled to be the new host of The Chase and I can’t wait to see the look on my mum’s face when she hears me saying all those big words. I’m excited to be starting on Monday during the Olympics. Mind you, any of the Chasers will happily tell you this show IS the Olympics of quizzing.”
He added, “I felt reasonably composed during the shows until The Governess starting flirting with me, then it all kind of fell apart.”
Below is also a cute segment which screened on The Morning Show.
Who is the greatest Chaser of them all? Is it The Shark, Goliath or The Supernerd, or maybe your money is safer on The Governess or The Tiger Mum?
Renowned for hosting some of Australia’s most-loved game shows, including Wheel Of Fortune and a record-breaking 1,500 episodes of The Price Is Right, Emdur has a front-row seat to witness contestants battle the thrilling brainpower of epic Chasers The Shark (Brydon Coverdale) Goliath (Matt Parkinson) The Supernerd (Issa Schultz) The Governess (Anne Hegerty) or The Tiger Mum (Cheryl Toh).
The Chase Australia is an ITV Studios Australia production for the Seven Network based on the original ITV quiz show.
@KylieGillies made it through to take on The Supernerd during her guest stint on #thechaseaustralia with @larryemdur but can she go all the way?!? 🏃 pic.twitter.com/o5CFBBQE78

What a shame the Chase is now hosted by such a shallow glitzy show type as Larry Emdur, the previous host was fine and I watched the show every night before the news, but I’ll not watch it now, sorry 7 but you’ve lost me.
Love The Governess but Larry will be interesting as host. I’m guessing due to the start time we are getting 2 contestants instead of the usual 4 during the Olympics.
Hopefully this means all new eps everyday now rather than a pre covid repeated ep every second day
Andrew’s last episode (broadcast) was a classic. One contestant, chasing $3,600, scored 5 in the final chase. Um…no…he didn’t win the money.
I thought The Beast wasn’t going to be in this season, this ad kind of implies that he is.
Larry is a very busy man, surely they could have gotten someone else. Grant Denyer and his enthusiasm would have been a good choice.
No thanks, I got pretty sick of him, his hosted about 4 shows in the last 3 years, all of which were also canned.
He also expressed how much he hated hosting Million Dollar Minute when 7 had that at 5pm. Execs remember this stuff.
Grant Denyer seemed happier presenting Family Feud. He wasn’t going to get any contestant go for a million dollars as the safe levels weren’t in play until Simon Reeve took over. I’m surprised Simon wasn’t considered for hosting The Chase.
Simon got dropped by seven, then Simon took seven to court over unpaid entitlements, or something like that
Well let’s just say that Pablo Escobar would have more chance of hosting The Chase or indeed any Seven product than Simon Reeve right now …
Is 5.30pm correct? Surely they can’t be half-hour episodes. Or is everything thrown out of whack because of the Olympics?
Correct, and it has been done before.
