They’ve tweaked the format of the show, with Professor’s debut tonight. It’s horrible! There’s now canned laughter and shocked sounds from a fake audience (to try and rival Tipping Point’s live audience?) And a ticker clock during the final chase. Oh dear, they must be worried. Wonder if ITV or Seven directive. Social media not happy tonight.
Are they trying to get to 100 chasers? Why do they keep adding more?
The beast no longer appears the chaser should confirm his exit …
Not watching The Chase this week as it’s all repeats (very recent ones too) for no apparent reason. No wonder it was demolished by Tipping Point in last night’s ratings (which plays new episodes 5 nights a week, and isn’t using Easter as an excuse to air repeats either). So sick of Seven being such tightarses with the show given its consistently high ratings and the fact that the show barely gives away any money as it is. Hell, I’d prefer it if they would at least play new episodes of the UK series in its timeslot when they don’t feel like playing new eps of the Aussie series.
As for the Professor, he was tipped off about 6 months ago, which leads me to suspect that they’ve been sitting on a substantial backlog of episodes. It must be annoying for the contestants not knowing how long the wait will be until their episode finally goes to air. It’s not as if this is a VFX heavy show that requires months of post-production.
This week is non-survey, so I guess it’s same as other shows repeating.
AFL in Melbourne no Chase
Spot on Re: so many repeats. But they still rate well. I’ve moved to Tipping Point but still flick back to see who chaser is – they started shooting with Professor late 2022, so yeh – stockpile is right.
