The Chase Australia returns soon with a ‘never-before-seen format’ variation, Double Trouble.
In a ‘world exclusive’, contestants face-off against not one but two formidable Chasers.
“The stakes are higher, the challenges are tougher, and the entertainment is unparalleled as the game turns on its head. Prepare to witness the greatest Chaser battles ever,” says a Seven release.
The Chase Australia Double Trouble features the following Chaser duos:
The Supernerd and Goliath
The Supernerd and The Smiling Assassin
The Shark and Tiger Mum
The Chase Australia is an ITV Studios Australia production for the Seven Network based on the original ITV quiz show.
5pm Monday January 29 on Seven.

I Will continue to watch The Chase Australia I Like Larry Emdur hosting I Watched Tipping Point UK Once and did not like I think the Aussie show will fail anyway
Oooooo this reeks of fear….Tipping Point about to dominate this tired format, there I said it. No more barracking for loser TV but cheering ppl winning/ gambling or atleast walking away with money
Wheres the beast did not appear all year last year… I know he does America…
He hasn’t done the American version since 2022
I’ve only started watching the show in the last year, but I recall him appearing maybe twice at most. He’s credited alongside the regulars, but he seems to be a glorified guest. Anne’s appearances are also rare, but she seems to pop up about once a month.
The Beast did appear last year definetley
No doubt to try and get viewers from turning onto channels nines Australian version of Tipping Point.
Tipping point is on at 4pm in adel only the east coast has it as t 5pm as last few years local news starts at 5pm and hot seat at 4
5pm everywhere from Monday 29th.
The Regional Win Networks has Tipping Point scheduled for 4:30pm then Win News at 5:30pm
As I watched the tennis, I heard that Tipping Point will be shown on Nine Perth at 4pm followed by Nine News at Five.
I don’t get this. Isn’t it better to watch when the contestants actually stand a chance? This just means they have to get more intelligent contestant casting to keep up with the higher difficulty levels.
Having said that, the spinoff Beat The Chasers I find is quite good. I suppose the achievement of surpassing the chasers is quite an achievement to be appreciated.
It will be ridiculous if they aren’t boosting the prize money as well. Either way, I’m a little bummed that Anne seemingly won’t be a part of this (and I never expected to see Mark Labbett, as he’s a glorified guest despite being credited in almost, if not every episode).
I’m curious as to how long they will keep up with this format and/or if they’re looking to make it a permanent fixture depending on how it rates against Tipping Point.
Also weird that they would announce only three hard-set pairs. It would have been fun to see other combinations as well.
I suspect these will only be specials, not an ongoing thing
I love this show, especially with Larry as host. It’s more fun to watch. This should be good to see. I’m also looking forward to whoever “The Professor” is.
Two Chasers will make it even harder for contestants to win. No Anne Hegerty or Shaun Wallace?
Shaun Wallace hasn’t appeared on our Chase for a few years now (he was only a guest Chaser). Perhaps thinking of Mark Labbett (aka The Beast) who is a regular on our one?
I seem to remember that they were going to have a new chaser called the professor.Has that idea been dropped. Will be interesting to see how it works with a pair of chasers.
I understand still coming.
Is this just a special format for the week, or a permanent change?
Good question, I will have to ask.
