Seven has unveiled its newest Chaser for quiz show The Chase, 27 year old Mara Lejins aka ‘The Smiling Assassin.’
Described as the “newest, smartest and blondest Chaser in town” she joins existing quiz experts, ‘Goliath, The Governess, The Beast, The Shark, The Super Nerd and The Tiger Mum.’
“I only smile when I’m trying to take down contestants, that’s why I’m always smiling,” she says with a grin.
She joins the series after the Commonwealth Games.
The Chase Australia is an ITV Studios Australia production based on the original ITV quiz show.

They certainly got some mileage out of the hair flick and the sparkly smile, it must be in the promo at least 5 times!
Hasn’t “the smiling assassin” already been used on the UK one?
A couple of the chasers have actually been on the UK version. The Beast and Supernerd. His show is based on the UK version.
It’s been a while since I watched the UK version, but I do remember it being used as one of Paul Sinha’s “lesser” monikers
I’ve met Mara a couple of times at work functions. All I can say is that’s a superb bit of casting.
