Oops. Brisbane’s “silent” win for 2032.
A bit unfortunate that the Olympic broadcaster missed the audio of Brissy's big moment.

“The winner is …..”
A bit unfortunate that the Olympic broadcaster missed the audio of Brisbane announced as winner of the 2032 Olympic Games.
Fingers crossed for a smoother run on Friday night?

Sky News was in an ad-break. CNN was also at ads, but replayed the moment and reaction in full.
I was watching 9 and it was hilarious when they talked over the announcement. Amateurs!
They didn’t even show it live in Melbourne, replayed it a few minutes later 🤦♂️
we were watching on Channel 9 news QLD and the presenters were too busy talking to one another that they missed the announcement – they only knew once the cheering erupted.
Pretty embarrassing. Imagine what would be said if Mr Leckie was still in charge??
Glad I was watching the announcement on ABC News.
Don’t know why the Qld Premier was there, Brisbane was the only contender for the 2032 game so a foregone conclusion!
To be fair I don’t think having Natasha Exelby signing the official documents would suffice.

???
I don’t understand. I think Seven might have missed it.
I watched it Live on ABC NEWS (Channel 24) and there was no Audio gap like in this clip?
Olympic broadcaster = Seven.
Oh and I almost forgot, Gina Riley and the ABC have 11 years to do another series (or two) of ‘The Games’
Switched over to 7 as I thought they would do a good job of the announcement being the Olympic Network. Was so disappointed, I mean we all knew what was happening but they completely stuffed it up. Even more annoying is they didn’t even acknowledge or apologise for the blunder they just moved on to the next story. Ended up switching back to 9.
Quite funny I see online people were complaining about 9 News Brisbane’s Coverage missing the announcement, complete opposite of Sydney. Like you said David hope it goes better for 7 on Friday.
That’s the worse part ,not even an apology that there was no audio for the announcement ,pathetic all round inc 9 which is the one I saw , ABC no issues I read and not sure on channel 10.
9 News Sydney did a better job with Peter Overton with Damien Ryan live in Tokyo.
exactly. They were well prepared, and crossed early enough to catch everything. Pete even had to talk over the quiet spot before the announcement.
Automation strikes again – 7 sacked all their control room staff and now robots run their news service.
Massive stuff up and highly embarrassing for all involved. For such an important announcement – delivered at a specific time that they all knew about – how do you stuff that up.
What 7 Sydney ran looked edited to me as well – wasn’t even Live.
Well 9 news Brisbane was bloody hopeless. They had Tokyo in the corner of the screen so they could cross over but were too busy yakking & missed it. I was screaming at my TV.
