Paramount+ opening week

New streaming service Paramount+ launches on August 11.

These are the highlights on launch day, which join an archive of TV series and movies.

Paramount+ is $8.99 a month, with a seven-day free trial and streamed in high definition.

More titles will premiere in August and later.

Five Bedrooms
Season 2
Season two of Five Bedrooms dives hard into themes that resonate globally. There’s a new home. A DIY renovation. A DIY renovation injury. Two pregnancies. An ex-husband. A workplace bullying complaint. An unexpected tragedy. Love found and love lost. Loyal fans will be comforted to learn that the full lead cast returns for season two. There’s the fallen socialite Liz (Kat Stewart), the romantic tragic Ainsley (Katie Robertson), the laconic tradie Ben (Stephen Peacocke), middle-aged mother Heather (Doris Younane) and dutiful gay doctor Harry (Roy Joseph). There’s also three new regulars in season two that are just weeks away from stealing a soft spot in your heart. Rodger Corser plays Stuart, Liz’s ex- husband; Daniel Lapaine plays Ben’s brother, an investment banker; and Josh McKenzie plays Harry’s love interest, Xavier.

Infinite
Feature Film
For Evan McCauley (Mark Wahlberg), skills he has never learned and memories of places he has never visited, haunt his daily life. Self- medicated and on the brink of a mental breakdown, Evan is sought by a secret group that call themselves “Infinites,” revealing to him that his memories may be real—but they are from multiple past lives. The Infinites bring Evan into their extraordinary world, where a gifted few are given the ability to be reborn with their memories and knowledge accumulated over centuries. With critical secrets buried in his past, Evan must work with the Infinites to unlock the answers in his memories in a race against time to save humanity from one of their own (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who seeks to end all life to stop what he views as the cursed, endless cycle of reincarnation.

Two Weeks to Live
Two Weeks To Live is a darkly comic tale of love and revenge born from a harmless prank that goes terribly wrong. In her first role since appearing on the hugely successful Game Of Thrones, Maisie Williams plays Kim, an early 20-something oddball who, since the murder of her father, has lived off-grid in the wilderness with her doomsday-prepping mother Tina, played by BAFTA winner and Emmy nominee Sian Clifford (Fleabag). Feeling compelled to go on a belated coming-of-age adventure, Kim sets out to find her dad’s killer. Things get complicated when she meets brothers Nicky (Mawaan Rizwan) and Jay (Taheen Modak), and the trio set in motion a chaotic series of events that puts all their lives in danger.

iCarly
5, 4, 3, 2, 1… She’s back.
Based on Nickelodeon’s original hit sitcom, iCarly picks up nearly 10 years later and finds Carly Shay, the original influencer, and her friends navigating work, love and their family in their twenties.
The all new (and all grown-up) series sees the return of much-loved iconic stars, Miranda Cosgrove (Carly), Jerry Trainor (Spencer) and Nathan Kress (Freddie). The series also welcomes two new cast; Laci Mosley as Harper, Carly’s roommate and best friend; and Jaidyn Triplett as Millicent, Freddie’s snarky and social media-savvy stepdaughter. As the original influencers and group of best besties reunite to tackle everyday problems and adventures, sit back and relive the hilarious nostalgia of spaghetti tacos, baby Spencer make-overs and those award dance battles.

Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years
Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years, is the first original spinoff to Nickelodeon’s iconic hit show SpongeBob SquarePants and follows 10- year-old SpongeBob SquarePants and his pals as they spend their summer building underwater campfires, catching wild jellyfish, and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck at the craziest camp in the kelp forest, Kamp Koral. SpongeBob meets Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, Plankton and Mr. Krabs, where the new friends embark on all the joys of camp, including hunting for treasure, slap lining and more. Plus they meet new friends Nobby and Narlene, the narwhal siblings who live in the woods surrounding the camp.

Rugrats
Our adored babies of the 90’s are back in the reimaging of the classic pop- culture cartoon hit, Rugrats. Featuring rich and colourful CG-animation, celebrate the return of toddlers – Tommy, Chuckie, Angelica, Susie and twins, Phil and Lil – as they explore the world and beyond from their pint-sized and wildly imaginative point- of-view.

Why Women Kill
